(Added) Communication Officer Applicants will complete a 2.5 hour audio-based, job-simulation assessment. Upon completion of background investigation and if hired, must complete a 9 week online Public Safety Telecommunication Certification Course from Florida State College that includes weekly completion of lecture, worksheets, a quiz, and a discussion board in addition to On-The-Job training. The course will be provided and paid by the Valparaiso Police Department. Upon successful completion of the course you must pass the Public Telecommunication State exam.
